Back up Thunderbird

Move configuration and messages from one computer to another

Among the many good features of Thunderbird is certainly the ability to easily perform a complete backup of all the configurations and messages that we have managed up to that point.

All the content of our installation, in fact, is stored in a folder like this

It is necessary to know that the folder ending with .default contains all the mail configuration and messages, so we just need to copy it to a medium to make a backup, and possibly paste it in the new computer if we want to keep all the history of our messages.

The location of that folder on Windows computers is

%APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\

while on Ubuntu computers it is

home/.thunderbird/

Obviously there is the possibility to perform the transfer from Windows to Ubuntu and vice versa.
