Look for mail in a span of time with Gmail

Advanced search Gmail also makes it easy to search the most annoying, as for example, an e-mail that you know that you have received in a particular period

Email_Archive_File_Folders

Those who use both the mail knows how easy it is the key archive, as it allows you to take the email or conversation from the boxes, but without deleting it, in case it can then serve us in the future.

Can then be the need to go to retrieve that old mail, but the normal text-based search is not enough. For example, you look for a receipt of a particular year, or even in a month.

Gmail allows us to filter the mail for a period of time by using the commands after and before. For example, if we are interested in all the mail of 2009, we will have to go to type in the search box

after:2008/12/31 before:2010/01/1

The format of the date to enter is the year/month/day. But it is possible to combine these dates in various ways and, depending on the use that we make of it, as for example the cancellation of mail too old.

By law all e-mails with legal value must be retained for 10 years, then 11th year can be cleaned up to make space for the new, and to be able to search all of just the command (considering that we are entering in 2016)

before:2006/01/01

In this way, displays all the mail since 2005, and once selected, you can decide to permanently delete them.

In the image below, you decide to search for all mail from 2010 in on.

Of course, in addition to the arc date, you can also search for text, such as, for example,

ricevute fiscali after:2004/31/12 before:2006/01/1

to search for all emails that contain the words tax receipts that were sent and received in 2005.
